What could be more Manchester than creating a city-wide art project based around the Bee emblem?
Symbolising the resilient spirit of the city, the Local Council and Wild in Art have created an art trail of over 80 individually designed giant Bee sculptures.
The Bee trail is created for and by Manchester. Regional artists have designed the sculptures and local communities have sponsored them.
You can download the Bee in the City app here, which has the full trail map and you can unlock rewards from the Bee’s sponsors.
Harvey Nichols, are one of the Manchester-based stores that got involved, sponsoring the colourful ‘Bee a Rainbow’ created by Rachel A Blackwell, who describes her Bee as “a symbol of hope perched upon a sky of dreams.” And if you unlock Bee a Rainbow on the trail, you can enjoy a hot drink or children’s cocktail at the Second Floor Bar and Brasserie*.
Also this weekend (Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July) Harvey Nics are launching two pop-up bars!
