How To Dry Shampoo

Washing your hair often falls to the bottom of the to-do list when you are juggling the school run and commute to work and so dry shampoo has become the saviour of many. But there are tricks to applying that I didn’t know about, and as it turns out, I have been getting it all wrong.

My usual habit would be to wake up (late) realise I have no time to wash and blow dry my hair and so I comb and grab a quick fix with the dry root spray. But hair experts tell us that the best way is to actually apply the night before!

Hairstylist suggests this as it helps prevent the chalky residue that can appear when you cake it on in your morning panic and by applying at the night it will allow it to absorb any excess oil as you sleep.

They also advise, that to avoid the ‘I’ve had a fight with some talc look’ to spray the dry shampoo from 6 to 8 inches away and not directly into the root. And to massage it in too!

Dry shampoo has saved me so much time and effort in the morning and I will be stocking up for September as part of my mum back to school shop *In case you were not aware, getting new things for back to school September is not just for kids, it’s for mums too!
