WHO: Six by Nico

WHAT: A series of carefully curated and constantly evolving restaurant concepts. Each six weeks, Nico and his team will serve a brand new six-course tasting menu – each one themed upon a different place or memory.

We tasted the Chip shop inspired menu – opting for the vegetarian dishes.

Course 1

Chips & cheese

Goats Cheese Espuma / Crisp Potato / Curry Oil (***absolutely amazing, Pressmum)

Course 2

Cauliflower scampi

Beer Battered Cauliflower / Pea Emulsion / Wild Garlic / Gribiche

Course 3

Root vegetable pie

Crushed Parsnip & Artichoke / Burnt Onion / Glazed Puff Pastry / Pickled Mustard

Course 4

Halloumi

Homemade Brown Sauce / Fennel / Salt & Vinegar Scraps (*** fave dish, Pressmum)

Course 5

Veggie sausage

Sweet Potato & Feta / Salt Baked Celeriac / Caramelised Apple (***least fave, pressmum)

Course 6

Deep fried mars bar

Caramelia Chocolate Mousse / Orange Sorbet / Dark Chocolate (***perfection wanted more marsbar, Pressmum)

WHERE: We headed to Liverpool, but there is one in Manchester too!

WHEN: Cooking ‘the chippie’ will be in Liverpool Tue 12th November – Sun 22nd December and If you’re in Manchester you can try the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party Tue 12th November – Sun 5th January

WHY: Delish food, great décor and venue. Staff were attentive. Great value for money. Perfect for a girl’s day out and couples. Six courses £29pp
